I grew up just a short drive from Zeljava, where exploring abandoned places with friends was part of everyday life. Years later, while working as a cycling guide around Plitvice Lakes, I realized that Zeljava wasn't just another stop on the route—it was the place visitors remembered most.
What started as a small stop along a cycling route slowly became something much bigger. The more I explored Zeljava aerodrom, the more I realized that this place deserved to have its story told. Today, I share not only the tunnels and structures, but the history, engineering, and human stories that make Zeljava aerodrom truly unique.
